Services over Christmas and the New Year

Council wishes you a safe and happy holiday season.
There will be some changes to our opening hours from 24 December 2025 to 5 January 2026.
Customer service centres
Council’s customer service centres in Gisborne, Kyneton, Romsey and Woodend will be closed from 12:30pm on Wednesday 24 December.
All offices will reopen on Monday 5 January 2026 at the following times:
- Gisborne: 8.30am
- Kyneton: 8.30am
- Romsey: 9.30am
The Woodend Customer Service Centre will be permanently closed from 1 January 2026.

Bin collections
Bins will not be collected on Thursday 25 December. If your collection day falls on 25 December, your bins will be collected Friday 26 December.
If your collection day falls on Friday 26 December 2025, please put your bins out as usual. There may be a slight delay in collecting the bins (up to 24 hours) but put them out when you normally would and leave them out until collected.
All bins will be collected by 6pm Saturday 27 December. If your bin is still not collected after this time, call our customer service team on (03) 5422 0333.
Collections will not be affected on all other public holidays and will resume as normal from Monday 29 December 2025.

Maternal and Child Health Centres
|
All centres are closed on Thursday 25 December, Friday 26 December, Thursday 1 January and Friday 2 January.
From Monday 29 December to Wednesday 31 December, there will be reduced service.

Sports Stadiums
|
Stadiums will be closed from Wednesday 24 December 2025 to Monday 5 January 2026.
Enquiries or urgent matters can be sent to the leisure@mrsc.vic.gov.au during this time.
Stadium members with fob access will be able to access the following facilities during the closure period:
- Riddells Creek Leisure Centre
- Romsey Recreation Centre
- Woodend Buffalo Sports Stadium
- Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre

Kindergartens
|
All kindergartens are closed from Friday 19 December and children will return for Term 1 2026 on Tuesday 3 February.
For 2026 enrolled children, all families will be emailed their orientation timetable and starting date.
