There are five historical societies in the Macedon Ranges and all societies are represented on the Macedon Ranges Heritage Council.
Kyneton Museum is located in historic Piper Street in Kyneton. With changing exhibitions and a collection housed in a National Trust building that was built in 1856 as a Bank of New South Wales. Collection items include a range of horse carriages, farming equipment and rare objects from yesteryear.
