Dog off leash and prohibited areas

From 1 October 2026, some dog off-leash and dog prohibited areas changed. Use the interactive map below to find areas near you. Updated printable maps will also be available on this page soon.

Dogs in public places must be on a leash, except in designated off-leash areas. 

Dogs must also be under effective control at all times and should not be left unattended.

Waterways where dogs are not allowed

Dogs are not allowed within the waterway and within 3 metres from the embankment at the following locations.

Designated areas do not apply to portions of waterways that are located within privately owned land.
