It provides a strategic basis for planning the future use and development of land within the Rural Living Zone (RLZ) and for managing different areas of RLZ land across the shire. The key objective of the Strategy is to provide for a finite 30 year supply of RLZ land across the shire.
The Rural Land Use Strategy will identify and address existing and emerging rural land use planning issues and opportunities, and set a new direction to ensure the protection of our important farming and rural conservation areas.
The Industrial Design Guidelines (Amendment C71) must be considered when developing industrial or commercial land.
Macedon Ranges has long been recognised as having a number of distinctive attributes and dominant features in our landscape. The Statement of Planning Policy provides a framework to ensure the Macedon Ranges are protected, conserved and enhanced.
