Paying your rates

Your rates contribute to funding a variety of services and projects that benefit the Macedon Ranges community.

We offer flexible payment options to make paying your rates convenient for you.

Due dates

You can choose to pay your rates in four equal instalments throughout the year, or you can pay the full amount as a single payment by 30 September.

If you are paying via instalments, you must pay each instalment no later than the due date:

  • 30 September
  • 30 November
  • 28 February
  • 31 May

Instalment reminder notices will be sent prior to each instalment date and if not paid by the due date it will be charged with penalty interest.

September 2025 instalments

Following the recent delay in sending out rates notices, property owners should have received their 2025-26 notices by now. This includes printed hard copies and eNotices.

Due to the delay, the following arrangements will apply for this instalment:

  • No fees, interest or late penalties will apply to rates owing before 31 October 2025.
  • You don’t need to contact us if you plan to pay your first instalment before this date.
  • If you need more time beyond 31 October 2025, you’ll need to request an extension or set up a payment plan.

To request an extension, or if you haven’t received your rates notice, call our customer service team on (03) 5422 0333.
