Seniors Festival 2026!
The Victorian Seniors Festival returns this October with thousands of free and low-cost events for older Victorians to get involved, have fun and share joy.
Celebrate positive ageing and take part in events and activities close to home and right across the state.
The 2026 festival's theme is – Connect, Create, Celebrate.
About this year's theme
Connect, Create, Celebrate – invites older Victorians to come together, discover new interests and celebrate.
- Connect or re-connect with your interests, skills and hobbies. Join in events and meet new people in-person and online.
- Create your own path and remain curious as you age. Join in events to build practical skills, make friendships and new social connections.
- Celebrate positive ageing. The festival delivers events and activities that celebrate the diversity of all older Victorians by supporting accessibility and inclusion.
Free public transport
Victorian Seniors Card holders can also enjoy 9 days of free public transport across Victoria from 3 to 11 October 2026. This includes all metropolitan public transport services, V/Line train and coach services, and selected regional bus services outside the myki area.
What's on
Free Local Events
Council is supporting free come-and-try events for seniors across the Shire from 1 - 18 October 2026. Council is also hosting a range of free events throughout the Seniors Festival month.
More information about these events will be available from 1 September 2026.
Free Events Across Victoria
Visit Seniors Online to view the online event calendar and find out where you can collect a festival guide. Copies will be available to collect at Council Administration Offices and local Neighbourhood Houses from 1 September 2026.
Expressions of Interest to host local events
Council is delighted to reconnect with local organisations keen to host FREE Come and Try Events, taking place from Thursday 1 October until Sunday 18 October 2026.
Applications for expressions of interest to host a local event have closed on Friday 24 July 2026.
