Youth Fest

Youth Fest kicks off in August with an art competition and some creative workshops in the September school holidays for young people in the Macedon Ranges.

The month-long event will finish on 28 September at an open mic and art exhibition, where the winner of the art competition will be announced!

Submissions close at 5pm on Sunday 25 September 2023.

Entries will be displayed at our Open Mic Night and Exhibition event on 28 September where the winner will be announced.

Entry guidelines

  1. All young people between the ages of 12 and 25 who live, work, study or recreate in the Macedon Ranges are eligible to enter.
  2. All submissions must incorporate the theme of positive mental health.
  3. Submissions can be made by individuals or groups. However, the prize money of $500 will be provided in the form of a gift card, and it will be the responsibility of the group to divide the prize between themselves in the event of a group winning the competition.
  4. All art forms are encouraged, including paintings, drawings, photos, creative writing, musical performances, etc. If you are unsure if your submission meets the criteria, email Macedon Ranges Youth Services at youth@mrsc.vic.gov.au
  5. Submissions can be made by emailing youth@mrsc.vic.gov.au – whether providing in a digital format, or to discuss the best way to store/display artworks in a physical form.
  6. There is no limit to how many times a group or individual may enter.
  7. The winner will be chosen by young people through a voting process at the Art Space activation event, which will occur on Thursday 28 September from 4-6pm.

By entering into the Art Space competition, you are agreeing to the following terms:

  1. You consent to your work being displayed at the Art Space activation on Thursday 28 September, and thereafter may be displayed in the Kyneton Youth Portable.
  2. You consent to Macedon Ranges Youth Services sharing your artwork digitally via social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram, as well as any other channels used for the promotion of Youth Services within the Macedon Ranges.
  3. You will avoid offensive phrases (including inappropriate language) or topics in your submission.
  4. Your submission will relate to the theme of positive mental health.
  5. The decision will be final, and no subsequent discussion will be entered into. Depending on the volume of entries, individual feedback may not be provided.
