Youth Climate Group

The Youth Climate Group was held in partnership with VicHealth.

The program funding finished as of 10 April 10 2026. 

The group was made up of nine enthusiastic young people who are passionate about taking climate action and making a positive impact in their community through environmental focussed initiatives. 

Past events and projects

Youth-Led Planting Day

4 October 2025 

Over 50 community members joined the group in a planting day to plant 380 of 7 different native species along the 5 Mile Creek Reserve in Woodend. This project is aimed to help the revegetation of the endangered Black Gum species. 

Cultural & Creative: Habitats Workshop

28 March 2026 

25 community members joined the Youth Climate Group for a hands-on cultural and creative experience led by a First Nations artist, Maddy Connors. Participants learned about the significance of art, language and storytelling while applying the newly learnt art techniques to habitat nesting boxes designed to support local wildlife.
