Youth Climate Group

In partnership with VicHealth, Council launched the Youth Climate Group in March of 2025.

The Youth Climate Group is open to young people aged 12 - 25 who live, work, or study in the Macedon Ranges who are interested  in taking climate action and making a positive impact in their community through environmental focussed initiatives! The group meet fortnightly, from the Woodend Community Centre.

Past events and projects

On 4 October 2025, the Youth Climate Group led their first project, Youth-Led Planting Day.

Over 50 community members joined the group in a planting day to plant 380 of 7 different native species along the 5 Mile Creek Reserve in Woodend. This project is aimed to help the revegetation of the endangered Black Gum species.
