Find a kindergarten or child care service
Kindergarten and child care programs offer a nurturing environment for children to play and learn, and provide opportunities for families to connect with the community.
There are different types of programs offered by a range of providers in the Macedon Ranges. Deciding where to send your child should be based on what works best for your family and your child.
Child care services
- Long day care is available for children whose families are working or studying, or just need some regular time off.
- Family day care is based in a carer’s home with a very small number of other children. For local providers, visit Our Village Family Childcare
Kindergarten programs
Kindergarten programs approved and funded by the Victorian Government receive the Kinder Tick, meaning they:
- are led by a qualified teacher
- support children through play-based learning
- comply with government guidelines and the National Quality Framework.
Funded kindergarten options:
- Sessional (standalone) kindergarten: a sessional kindergarten offers up to 15 hours of funded kindergarten program on specific days and times to eligible three- and four-year-old children. There is generally no out-of-pocket expense for this option.
- Integrated kindergarten: an integrated kindergarten program is delivered in a long day care setting and provides flexibility for parents and carers by offering childcare before and after the kindergarten program, during the school holidays, and also provides meals. There are costs associated with attending a long day care, which are set by each provider.
