Kyneton Kindergarten

Kyneton Kindergarten outside area

Kyneton Kindergarten opened in 2022 and is located at the Kyneton Primary School site and next to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School.

It provides 60 kinder places, a large updated playground and delivers a high quality kindergarten program.

Learning experiences are based on children's needs, interests and abilities and are carefully planned by qualified early childhood educators. Play is the major tool for teaching and learning. We provide open-ended experiences that give all children the opportunity to explore and investigate and develop their imagination, creativity, knowledge and skills.

Our Place, Our People, Our Purpose

Our Land

Kyneton Kindergarten is proudly situated on Taungurung Country. We honour and acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we play and learn together. We are committed to learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and embedding this learning into our everyday practice.

Our Children

We believe in creating a warm, safe, and inclusive environment where every child feels seen, valued and empowered to express themselves. We foster curiosity, confidence and a love of learning through play. Children are encouraged to take risks, build friendships, solve problems, and grow into capable, kind, and compassionate individuals.

Our Families

We value strong partnerships with families and see you as our most important collaborators. Your voice helps shape our program. Through ongoing conversations, supported by platforms like Kinderloop, we gain meaningful insights that help us support each child’s unique journey.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

We believe every child has the right to fully participate and belong. We nurture a supportive environment where children and families of all abilities, backgrounds, cultures and gender identities feel respected, safe, and celebrated. We advocate for fairness, kindness, and respect for all.

Our Practice

Our play-based programs are thoughtfully planned and responsive to each child’s strengths and interests. Educators use intentional teaching and professional knowledge to support learning and development across all domains. We are committed to continuous reflection, growth, and collaboration to ensure high-quality outcomes for all children.

Our Community

We recognise and value the diversity of our community — its cultures, traditions and beliefs — and the important role this plays in children’s sense of belonging. We build meaningful connections with local schools, early years networks, Kyneton District Health, allied health professionals and aged care residents, which further enrich children’s experiences and strengthen these connections.

Our Environment

We are committed to nurturing children’s understanding of sustainability and fostering a care for the environment. Through everyday experiences like composting, gardening, recycling and caring for our shared spaces, we encourage mindful choices and a sense of responsibility for the world around us.

Our Team

We are passionate teachers and educators committed to reflective practice and lifelong learning. Together, we grow through professional development and continually evolve our programs, relationships and pedagogy to meet the needs of our children, families and community.
