Register for kindergarten

Register here

Council provides a central registration service for many kindergartens across the region, helping families access kindergarten places in a fair and easy way.

Register by 31 May for your best chance at receiving a first round offer. Missed the deadline? Don't worry. Registrations are open year round. We aim to find a place for all families.

For kindergarten registration at a non-participating service, please contact each service directly

Before you begin

  • Check what year your child is eligible to start kindergarten with the Starting Age Calculator.
  • You can register your interest for the current year or 2 years before your child is eligible to start kindergarten.
  • There are limited spaces in some areas and there is no guarantee that your child will get a place. You can select up to three kindergartens to maximise your chances.
  • You don't need to provide any documentation when registering for kindergarten. Supporting documents are required when completing your enrolment form after you receive an offer.

Participating kindergartens

15 local kindergartens use the Macedon Ranges Central Registration Scheme (CRS).

These kindergarten services provide free kindergarten.

Some services have out of pocket costs based on the type of delivery model (such as meals included, the ability to access to longer days and those that run over the school holidays). Before you register, you can read more about your preferred service's educational philosophies, delivery model.

For a complete list of kindergartens in the Macedon Ranges, go to Find a kindergarten or child care service.

Participating kindergartens are listed by township below.

What happens after you register?

Kindergarten places will be allocated in line with the Priority of Access Criteria.

Your kindergarten offer will be sent via email mid-year – usually July.

You will have 2 weeks to accept your offer.

Once you accept an offered place you will be contacted by the kindergarten to progress enrolment.
