Fire Danger Period

The 2025-26 Fire Danger Period for Macedon Ranges Shire ended at 1am on Tuesday 7 April 2026.

Note: as per Council's local laws, some burning off restrictions still apply outside of the official Fire Danger Period.

About the Fire Danger Period

The Fire Danger Period is declared by the CFA, not Council. The dates vary from year-to-year, and for each shire area.

When the CFA declares a Fire Danger Period, no fire may be lit in the open air without a permit.
