School Holidays Activities - December 2025

The summer school holidays are just around the corner, and Council is preparing a great lineup of activities for children and young people across the Macedon Ranges. 

Below is a summary of the activities you can find listed in full on our School Holiday Activities page. 

Macedon Ranges Libraries  

Throughout the summer holidays join the BIG Summer Read for a chance to win prizes, and enjoy a range of creative activities as part of the Summertime Fun! School Holiday Program. Cool off in air-conditioned spaces with free Wi-Fi, books and activities for all ages. Full program details and holiday opening hours are available at ncgrl.vic.gov.au. 

Intensive Learn to Swim classes 

Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatics Centre + Gisborne Aquatic Centre 
Gisborne: Weeks of 5–9 January, 12–16 January and 19–23 January 

Kyneton: Weeks of 5-9 January, 12-16 January 
2 and 5-day programs to build swimming confidence and safety. Suitable for ages 3+. Bookings essential. 

Teen Gym – Kyneton 

Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre 
22–23, 27, 29–30 December; 5, 8–9, 12–17, 21 January 
Secondary students can learn proper gym technique and get fit with personalised programs led by qualified trainers. 

Teen Gym – Gisborne 

Gisborne Fitness Centre 
22–23, 27, 29–30 December; 3, 5–10, 12–17, 19–24 January 
Secondary students can get fit and learn gym skills with guidance from qualified trainers.  

Inflatable Pool Fun 

Gisborne Aquatic Centre and Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre 
Varied dates between Monday 12 January and Friday 23 January | 1pm-3pm

Fun sessions for children to play on our pool inflatables. 

Casual Basketball Sessions 

Macedon Ranges Sports Precinct, New Gisborne 
5–9 January; 13, 15, 20 and 22 January | 10am - 2pm 
Bring your own basketball for open-court casual play. Standard entry fees apply. 

Macedon Ranges Sports Precinct Program 

Macedon Ranges Sports Precinct Stadium, New Gisborne 
12, 14, 16, 19, 21 and 23 January | 9am – 12 pm 
Sport, dance and daily art activities for children aged 3–5 and 6–12 years. 1-week pass (3 sessions): $117.90 | 2-week pass (6 sessions): $235.80. 

Woodend Pool Party 

Woodend Swimming Pool, 2 Margery Cres, Woodend 
Wednesday 14 January | 12pm - 3pm 
Pool party with a BBQ and DJ. Standard pool entry fees apply. 

Skate, Scooter & BMX Competition 

Gisborne Skate Park, 2 Hamilton St, Gisborne 
Saturday 17 January | 11am – 4.30pm 
A full day of competitions with a BBQ and live music. A free event co-hosted by The Y. 

Tabletop Roleplaying Gaming Workshop 

Kyneton Youth Portable, Hutton St, Kyneton 
Tuesday 20 January 
Beginner (10am – 12pm) and advanced (1pm – 3pm) sessions led by a gaming facilitator.  
Free, bookings essential. 

Lancefield Pool Party 

Lancefield Memorial Swimming Pool, 69 Chauncey St, Lancefield 
Wednesday 21 January | 12pm - 3pm 
Pool party with a BBQ and DJ. Standard pool entry fees apply.
