Community Local Law Permits

This application covers a range of activities regulated under the Community Local Law 2023 that require Council approval.

These include:

  • Grazing and droving of livestock
  • Use of scare guns
  • Heavy and long vehicles in residential areas
  • Caravans, motorhomes, or camping on private land
  • Powered recreational vehicles
  • General use or activity on Council land or roads

Things you need to know/prepare before you apply

To avoid delays, ensure you have all required information and documentation ready before lodging your application.

Applications submitted without the required documentation or payment will be deemed incomplete and will not be assessed. A new application will be required to be submitted.

You will be required to provide:

  • Public Liability Insurance (minimum $10 million cover, valid for the duration of the permit) – Note: Public Liability Insurance is not required for all application types under this permit. Council will advise if required.
  • Aerial map showing the location of the activity.
  • Property owner consent (if not the owner).
  • Traffic Management Plan (Grazing of Livestock)
  • Relevant approvals (where applicable), such as:

Requirements and conditions

  • Activities must not create a safety risk or public nuisance
  • Must comply with relevant State Government guidelines and legislation
  • Additional conditions may be applied depending on the activity type

Permit Fees

  • $189 (up to and including 12 month permit)
  • $331 (over 12 month permit duration – maximum to 24 months
  • Free (Not for profit/charitable organisation)

Fees are non-refundable.
