Meals and food services
As of 1 July 2023, Council will no longer be a Commonwealth Home Support Programme provider. Under the new model, there is now choice to where people access their services via two providers: Benetas and Intereach. Council remains committed to supporting the shire’s elderly in the long term through a range of initiatives, such as our Village Connect program. For information, call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or Sharon Gill, Transition Officer on (03) 5422 0225.
Through the Meals at Centre funding, Council subsidises a portion of the cost of providing meals to people aged 65 years and over who are registered with My Aged Care, enabling the meal to be provided at a lower cost to participants.
Until 30 June 2023 Meals at Centre funding is provided to:
- Romsey/Lancefield Community Lunch
- Kyneton Senior Citizens
- Macedon Senior Citizens
- Riddells Creek Senior Citizens
- Sunbury Cobaw Social Support Group
Council also provides meal preparation support in the home as well as shopping support.
