Green waste drop-off
Our resource recovery facilities accept a variety of green waste all year round.
Fees apply to residents, non-residents and commercial operators.
Free green waste disposal weeks
Residents will be able to dispose of their eligible green waste during our free green waste disposal weeks.
- Week 1: Monday 27 October to Sunday 2 November 2025
- Week 2: June 2026 (specific date to be confirmed closer to the event)
Residents can visit as many times as they like during free green waste disposal week.
Residents also received their free green waste drop-off vouchers in the most recent edition of ShireLife newsletter. These vouchers can be used at any time until 30 June 2026.
Accepted items
We accept leaf litter, lawn clippings and prunings that can be turned into mulch. Loads must be free of weeds, wire, food scraps and other rubbish.
General waste fees apply for the following:

- Large branches with a diameter greater than 250mm
- Agapanthus

- Yucca
- Ivy
- Willow
- Broome
- Gorse
- Blackberry
- Rose prunings
- Long grass
- Flax
- Bamboo
Noxious weeds can be placed in your FOGO (Food Organics Garden Organics) bin and are turned into compost.
