Council’s leisure and aquatic centres offer preschool, school holiday and learn to swim programs. To see what’s available in your local area visit:
Local libraries run programs for children that include rhyme time, storytime and school holiday programs. Find a library near you to discover what’s on.
Playgroups offer opportunities for babies and pre-schoolers to socialise and develop new skills while their parents/guardians have opportunities to build friendships with other families within the community. Most playgroups meet weekly at various times during school terms. Find a playgroup in the region or visit Playgroup Victoria to find a playgroup for more information.
Eligible families also have access to supported playgroups which are funded by the Victorian Government. These playgroups support disadvantaged families and children who may not normally have the opportunity to go to a playgroup. Contact our Maternal and Child Health Services for more information.
Toy Libraries are a non-profit organisation run by volunteer members, providing a cost-effective way for parents to access fun and educational toys and play material. Toys available for loan cater for children from birth to eight years. Visit Toy Libraries Australia for more information.
