The Gisborne Library received a major upgrade to its meeting space, following a successful grant application by Council.
Gisborne Library is one of 19 libraries across the state that benefited from the Victorian Government’s 2024-25 Living Libraries Infrastructure Program (LLIP), providing more than $4 million to support new or upgraded library infrastructure projects.
The library, operated by Goldfields Libraries on Council’s behalf, saw a $457,000 contribution towards a modern, accessible, multi-functional meeting space. The Gisborne Genealogical Group currently operate out of this space, and now have improved accessibility, upgraded technology, and greater integration with the rest of the library.
This investment in the Gisborne Library will support the growing demands of the Gisborne community, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, while ensuring that it is up to the standards of modern-day demands.
Construction commenced in late April 2026 and was completed in August 2026.
