Gisborne Library meeting space upgrade
- Completion Date14 August 2026
The Gisborne Library is set to receive a major upgrade to its meeting space, following a successful grant application by Council.
Gisborne Library is one of 19 libraries across the state that will benefit from the Victorian Government’s 2024-25 Living Libraries Infrastructure Program (LLIP), providing more than $4 million to support new or upgraded library infrastructure projects.
The library, operated by Goldfields Libraries on Council’s behalf, will see a $457,000 contribution towards a modern, accessible, multi-functional meeting space. The Gisborne Genealogical Group currently operate out of this space, and will see improved accessibility, upgraded technology, and greater integration with the rest of the library.
This investment in the Gisborne Library will support the growing demands of the Gisborne community, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, while ensuring that it is up to the standards of modern-day demands.
Tender issue designs and specifications were prepared, with the project to go out to tender in February 2026. Pending the completion of the tender process, construction is expected to start in April 2026 and take up to 4 months to complete.
