Aqua aerobics

More low-impact than land-based aerobics, our aqua aerobics classes have most of the fat-burning and endurance-building benefits that you get from other forms of aerobic activity. Aerobic exercise in the water for 30 minutes will help you burn about 300 calories. Our experienced and fully qualified instructors ensure that each participant gets the maximum benefit from their workout. Participants can work at their own pace, making this form of exercise perfect for everyone, regardless of fitness level or experience.

Our Aqua Workout is held in the main pool, this class is ideal for people who want to develop cardio fitness in a challenging environment. You will use water resistance and additional water based equipment to improve cardiovascular fitness.

The Low Impact Aqua Workout is held in the main pool, this class is designed for those who prefer to not jump a lot. It is ideal for those post-pregnancy or returning from injury who want to improve their fitness.

Deep Water Aqua is held in the deep end of the main pool. Using buoyancy equipment, this class keeps your feet off the bottom of the pool (nearly) the whole time! A high intensity workout for those who prefer to work a bit harder.

Warm water exercise (Hydrotherapy)

Warm water exercise is ideal for people recovering from muscle and/or joint pain, injury or would like to commence a low impact exercise program. The class can be the next stage for people having completed physiotherapy-based rehabilitation.

This type of therapy in the water is where the buoyancy, resistance and warmth of the water are all used in a positive manner to maximise the physical and mental benefits to the participant.

An exercise program in the aquatic environment can provide benefits not found in other areas and can advance individuals to their next level of fitness and mobility sooner. There are many benefits from participation in our hydrotherapy classes including:

  • increased flexibility
  • increased fitness
  • increased muscular strength
  • relief of muscular tension
  • decreased pain associated with tension.

We run a 45 minute session on Monday and Thursday at 12pm. Class numbers are limited to 12 and bookings are essential.

To reserve your place, payment is required up front for the term based program.

All enquiries must contact the centre on (03) 5421 1477 or email ksacrec@mrsc.vic.gov.au to be notified of pre-assessment requirements.
