Kyneton Airfield

RWY 09/27 PAL LIRL is unserviceable until further notice.

The Kyneton Airfield was first constructed as an agricultural airstrip in the early 1960s to service the needs of crop dusting. Today the airfield is owned by Macedon Ranges Shire Council (MRSC) and is currently operated by Kyneton Aero Club (KAC) under a service agreement.

The airfield is located approximately 3.5kms north of the Kyneton township and 75kms north west of Melbourne CBD. The Airfield Reference Point (ARP) is 37.225000 latitude and 144.446667 longitude at an elevation of 502.9 meter above mean sea level (AMSL).

The airfield has two runways:

Runway 18/36 (sealed) North-south
Runway 09/27 (Grass) East-west

Circuits on runways 09 and 36 are left-hand with circuits on runways 18 and 27 right-hand. In nil wind conditions and subject to operational safety considerations runway 36 is preferred.

There are approximately 35 private hangers located at the airfield and these have lease arrangements with Council.

Noise complaints

The Noise Complaints and Information Service (NCIS) is managed by Airservices Australia and is responsible for managing complaints about aircraft noise and operations. They can be contacted on 1800 802 548 between 10am - 4pm (Sydney time) Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) or by completing a complaints form.
