Council is proud to support 16 Days of Activism with a free screening of 'Left Write Hook,' a multi-award-winning film!

This compelling documentary follows eight female and gender diverse survivors of childhood sexual abuse as they embark on a groundbreaking trauma recovery program. Combining the strength of boxing with the vulnerability of creative writing, the program empowers survivors to release trauma, reclaim their bodies and reimagine their futures.

Through powerful participatory filmmaking, an amazing journey of self-discovery, resilience, recovery, transformation and friendship is captured, as they begin to take back their agency and power.

An Q&A session, moderated by Alex Kelly, will follow the screening and will feature:

A Left Write Hook film participant and survivor advocate
A representative from Centre for Non-Violence (CNV)
A representative from Centre Against Sexual Assault - Central Victoria (CASACV)

Information Stalls

Information stalls from both CNV and CASACV will open before and after the event, providing resources and information about the services they offer to support individuals impacted by violence and trauma.
