Changes to your permit

AMEND A PLANNING PERMIT

If you want to make changes to your planning permit you can apply for an amendment.

For example, if you already have a permit to develop a house you could apply for an amendment to change the house design. You can also apply to amend or delete conditions in your planning permit.

To apply

  1. Complete the application form:

 2.  email it to mrsc@mrsc.vic.gov.au.

Don't forget to attach:

  • A complete and current copy of title (obtained with last 3 months, available for a small fee at Landata); and
  • Supporting documents including plans showing all proposed changes.

Fees

The application fees for amendments can vary based on any additional cost of development and can be found on page two of the Fee Guide(DOCX, 63KB)  /  Fee Guide(PDF, 187KB).

If you are unsure of the correct fee call 03 5422 0333 to confirm, or submit your amendment application without a fee and we will contact you to advise of the applicable fee and payment options.

REQUEST SECONDARY CONSENT

You can request secondary consent for approval of minor changes to the plans that were endorsed as part of your planning permit.

For example, if you have a permit to develop a house and wanted to change the size of a window on the plans you could request secondary consent to have the revised plans endorsed (stamped).

More significant changes, including changes that may affect neighbours, or any changes to the permit description or conditions cannot be considered under secondary consent. Changes that may seem minor will not be eligible if they are consequential with regard to the planning controls.

Before you apply

Confirm with us that the proposed changes are eligible to be considered under secondary consent by calling 03 5422 0333 or emailing mrsc@mrsc.vic.gov.au.
