Mount Macedon, Clarke Street - new footbridge installed

In 2023, the timber footbridge on Clarke Street, Mount Macedon (over Willimigongon Creek) was assessed as no longer safe for pedestrians because of structural issues.

At first, barricades and warning signs were put in place, but as these were repeatedly removed, the bridge was taken down completely to protect public safety while repair or replacement options were considered.

A contractor was appointed in March 2025, and the new footbridge was installed on 25 August 2025.

This project was funded through Council’s 2025–26 Capital Works Program.
