Our kindergarten resides in a semi-rural township, in a lovely quiet street where native birds, kangaroos, koalas and even the local gaggle of geese often visit our tree-filled yard.
We aim to create a home away from home for children by building an atmosphere that is safe, fun, supportive and engaging.
We acknowledge the Wurrundjeri Woi Worrung People, the original custodians of this land and pay our respects to them for their care of the land over many generations.
We provide a safe, secure, respectful, caring and responsive environment for children where educators advocate for the rights of every child
Our Values:
- We as educators are committed, qualified and passionate in understanding the uniqueness of each child, recognising them as capable, powerful and active agents in their own learning.
- We believe that each child can build on their strengths and reach their fullest potential through a learning through play approach, which recognises that children are curious and enthusiastic.
- We value the uniqueness and diversity of every child and strive to be inclusive in our practices.
Our Community:
- We value and support collaborative practices, seeking to develop open, honest, strong, respectful and reciprocal relationships with children, families, staff and the wider community.
- We understand the pivotal role families play in their children’s lives, and foster parent’s active participation in our program.
- We believe in nurturing strong links with the local community by building relationships with local organisations and initiatives, working closely with schools, maternal health and council.
- We respect these working partnerships to promote an inclusive, diverse and vibrant kindergarten community.
Our Program:
- Our program provides learning experiences that engage and excite children by focusing on strengths, interests and fostering the curiosity that children innately have.
- We are passionate about promoting awareness and respect for the environment and do this by incorporating indigenous perspectives wherever possible.
- We believe in importance of an integrated approach to teaching and learning the child’s voice is of utmost importance.
- We are committed to continuous improvement and capacity building where we open to change so that we can extend our program with new ideas and experiment new ways of doing things in order to improve learning outcomes of our children.
We want our service to be a fun, spontaneous and happy environment where children can reach their fullest potential.
