Country Pride, Country-Style!

This IDAHOBIT Day, we’re turning up the twang and turning out the love with a Kyneton shindig - a proudly queer country celebration for everyone under the rainbow (and our allies too)!

Get ready to dance it out with Country Struts and enjoy a live set from Kerryn Fields & Band - the perfect soundtrack to put your line dancing lessons with Gail and Glenn into practice!

Between lessons, DJ Queenie will keep the energy high and the barn buzzing with a mix of country favourites, camp classics, and dancefloor anthems.

No partners needed, no rules about who leads - just good vibes, great tunes, and a whole lot of queer joy.

Let’s celebrate IDAHOBIT Day with pride, rhythm, and a touch of country glitter in boot scootin’ Kyneton-style!

This event is part of IDAHOBIT celebrations.

About the artists

Country Struts

At Country Struts, it’s all about moving our bodies and having the best time scooting to banging tracks and talented local musicians.

It’s not about perfecting the jazz box step, we’re here to encourage a good time.

We run weekly beginner-friendly boot scooting classes in Brunswick, St Kilda and Richmond. Plus regular Honky Tonks, bi-yearly Hoedowns and host events across the country.

We welcome everyone to come and give it a crack!

Queenie

Queenie’s 2024 debut album New Moult is a melting pot of immersive soundscapes, raw emotion, and powerhouse vocals—an unflinching statement of arrival from one of Australia’s most exciting new voices. Released via Cheersquad Records & Tapes the album debuted at #19 on the ARIA Charts and #3 on the AIR Charts, earning national radio rotation including Double J.

On stage, Queenie is magnetic. Whether performing solo or backed by a band of Naarm/Melbourne’s finest, her shows shimmer with raw energy, theatrical flair, and a voice that can shift from delicate to explosive in an instant. Following a sold-out album launch at Northcote Social Club, she’s become a festival favourite with appearances at Beyond the Valley, Queenscliff Music Festival, PANAMA, Blues on Broadbeach, and more.

With New Moult, Queenie hasn’t just announced herself—she’s kicked the door in.

Kerryn Fields

Fuelled by reverence, integrity and a deep spiritual connection to the human experience, New Zealand songwriter Kerryn Fields paints timeless musical portraits that do what others rarely can: bring us home to ourselves.

With several awards and nominations to her name, Fields’ trademark warmth of character, evident in both life and music, fuels a creative offering that expands well beyond her mastery of guitar, voice and audience.
