Bike Skills Workshop

  • Don’t have a bike or the expertise?
  • We have you covered!

We've partnered with Trailhead Coaching to offer this workshop to young people of the Macedon Ranges.

Bike and helmet supplied. Expert instruction.

The session is carefully structured to ensure that skills are learned progressively, and enables riders to build confidence and skills in order to access terrain that provides just the right amount of challenge and fun.

Throughout the 3 hour session, riders will enjoy plenty of trail time, explicit instruction and also time for a BYO snack break.

Program outline

Some of the skills you can expect your rider to work on will be:

  • stability and balance - descending and climbing controls
  • braking and gears
  • trail scanning
  • direction control

Schedule

  • 10am-10:30am: Welcome - meet and greet, equipment checks, goal setting
  • 10:30am-11:30am: Warm up, MTB skills instruction
  • 11:30am-11:50pm: Snack break/transition
  • 11:50pm-12:50pm: Additional MTB skills instruction and or guided trail ride to consolidate learning.
  • 12:50-1pm: Closure - wrap up and sign out.

Please bring

Suitable ride attire such as closed shoes. It could be cold and or wet, please dress for the conditions.

Snacks, and any medications

All riders will need to carry their own water for the duration of the session. We can provide clean drink bottles filled with water to fit on the bikes.
