Resource Recovery Secondary School Grant Program

Calling all secondary schools in the shire!  

Council is excited to announce a secondary school grant program that will give successful applicants the resources to implement a waste-wise initiative at their school.  

Secondary schools in the Macedon Ranges can apply for up to $2,000 to tackle a waste problem prevalent at their school. The proposal must tackle a waste-specific problem and consider long-term solutions and sustainability. Successful applicants will be invited to an awards ceremony later in the year. 

Applications are open from 1 February to 30 April 2024.

Important details

Applications must include:

  • a budget outline
  • project timeline
  • three SMART objectives
  • brief description of the waste problem being targeted, how the grant will impact the problem and how it will create a waste-wise future for the school 

Proposals must fall under one of the following categories:

  • Recycling solutions (e.g. update bin signage around the school)
  • Food waste reduction (e.g. 'Eat what you pack' campaign)
  • Waste reduction (e.g. swapping to reusable materials at the canteen)
