Buses for hire

Council has a small bus available for hire. Call 5422 0333 for further information.

Larger buses, with driver, are available to hire from:

GisBus (Gisborne Town Service)

GisBus provides public transport for Gisborne residents between their homes and the Gisborne Train Station on weekday mornings and evenings. Travel on this service is free on presentation of a valid V/Line ticket. If you do not have a valid V/Line ticket, a $2 fee applies for adults or $1 for a concession fare.

Kyneton Town Bus Service (Monday–Saturday)

The Kyneton Town Service now runs six days a week, with services operating Monday to Saturday. Buses now operate for longer, with hours extended and timetables adjusted to better connect with V/Line trains.

A new service between Trentham and Kyneton started in April 2019. Full details are available on the Public Transport Victoria website. Route maps and timetables are linked below.

Lancefield and Romsey bus services

There are three bus routes to connect Lancefield to Kyneton and Sunbury. These services were upgraded in July 2019 to have simpler timetable with more frequent services. Full details are available on the Public Transport Victoria website. Route maps and timetables are linked below.

V/Line Services

V/Line's Barham to Melbourne (via Heathcote) bus service passes through Lancefield and Romsey each day. Services must be booked. For further information, visit V/Line.

Lancefield-Romsey-Melbourne Cooperative Service

This bus service is run by a cooperative as a Monday to Friday commuter service. It leaves Lancefield at 6:35am and picks up at Romsey 6:41am and arrives in central Melbourne at approximately 7.30am. It leaves Melbourne at 5:20pm. There is a shareholder charge to join and the fare is approximately $60 per week.

School buses

Children are entitled to free transport to their nearest public school if they live more than 4.8 kilometres away and may receive support to attend other schools. Contact the school your child attends for further information.

Young people aged 15 to 24 who are undertaking further education or training may also be able to catch the school bus, if there is room. They should also contact a school closest to where they live.

Woodend Bus Service

A Public Transport Victoria operated FlexiRide bus services the local area around Woodend. This bus service operates Monday – Friday on a stop by stop demand basis. To request a pick up from a stop location please call 54221634 at least 10 minutes prior to the advertised time on the timetable.

Bendigo-Melbourne Airport Shuttle

The Bendigo Airport Service runs through the Macedon Ranges on weekdays, weekends and public holidays. Bookings are essential. A timetable is available at Bendigo Airport Service.
