Electric Vehicle charging stations

Woodend EV charging station - High Street Woodend

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Kyneton, 1 Hutton Street and Woodend, 124 High Street (pictured) are now both operational.

They are both rapid 50kW DC chargers which enable an average electric vehicle to be fully charged in less than 30 minutes.

Users are charged 40c per kWh of electricity used.

The stations were installed as a part of the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance’s (CVGA) Charging the Regions Project with funding from the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure fund. The CVGA have lead the project on behalf of 43 regional councils and 11 metropolitan councils.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) have funded a video about Charging the Regions which provides and overview of the benefits of the project to drivers and the region more broadly.

Users can find other charging stations across Australia on the Plugshare website.

Council continue to support the community transition to zero emissions transport by actively seeking grant funding for additional EV charging stations throughout the Shire.
