Riddells Creek - Picket fence and footbridge works

Stage 1 works (completed)

Stage 1 of Riddells Creek picket fence replacement works are now complete.

This included the replacement of picket fence sections at the following locations:

  • Main Road, Riddells Creek (median strip)
  • Sutherlands Road, Riddells Creek
  • Riddell Road/Kilmore Road intersection
  • Gap Road/Kilmore Road intersection.

Stage 2 works (underway)

Works started in the week commencing 26 February 2024 to replace the pedestrian footbridge and surrounding timber fences outside the bakery in at 82 Main Street in Riddells Creek, improving safety for pedestrians.

The works will include replacement of the existing timber footbridge and fencing outside the bakery in the service road, with the new Australian-made, environmentally friendly and UV-resistant pickets providing a natural timber look.

For safety and design reasons, works will require the unavoidable removal of a large tree that overhangs the current pedestrian bridge.

Works are expected to be completed by April 2024, weather permitting.

Traffic management, signage and detours will be in place during the works, with the service road closed to vehicles at times, and our contractors will work closely with directly impacted businesses and residents to keep any disruptions minimal.

These works are funded as part of Council’s 2023/24 Capital Works Program.
