New Gisborne, Monaghan and Saunders Road – drainage works

Drainage upgrade works were recently completed at the intersection of Monaghan Road and Saunders Road in New Gisborne to address existing issues and increase the drainage capacity.

The works included:  

  • Installing an additional culvert next to the existing box culvert
  • Reshaping of the roadside table/open drain on both sides of Monaghan Road culvert to help water drain more effectively.

These works were funded by Council’s 2024–25 unplanned drainage program.

Construction was successfully completed in July 2025. 

We would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience as works were being completed.
