New Gisborne, Hamilton Road - Road Reconstruction

Reconstruction works on a key section of Hamilton Road which connects New Gisborne to Riddells Creek, have now been completed making a safer, smoother journey for all.

The Hamilton Road, New Gisborne project involved pavement reconstruction and widening of 1.9km of Hamilton Road from the intersection of Kilmore Road, roadside drainage improvements and road safety improvements along Hamilton Road. The road upgrade works commenced in the last week of January 2024 and was completed in the first week of April in two stages, with road closures and detours in place for the second stage.

This significant road infrastructure improvement project was jointly funded by the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery Program and Council’s 2023/24 Capital Works Program.

We would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience as works were being completed.
