Clarke Street footbridge, Mount Macedon

In 2023, Council assessed an existing timber footbridge located at Clarke Street, Mount Macedon over Melbourne Water's Willimigongon Creek as unsafe for pedestrian use due to structural concerns.

Initially, barricades and additional warning signs were installed, but after the barricades continued to be removed, the footbridge was removed completely to ensure public safety while options for repairs or replacement of the crossing were explored.

The tender was awarded late March 2025. The footbridge installation and all associated works completed on 25 August 2025 These works are funded as part of Council’s 2025-26 Capital Works Program.
