Gisborne, Sheedy Road - Road Reconstruction

Works to upgrade a section of Sheedy Road, Gisborne, from the Howey Street intersection to Willowbank Road were completed in December 2023. 

The works included:

• road surface upgrades from Howey Street intersection to Willowbank Road
• a new roundabout at Fersfield and Sheedy Road intersection. Works included 1.5m wide concrete footpath links from Wilson Place to shared path in Sheedy Road.
• extension of 2.5m wide concrete shared path from Fersfield Road to Willowbank Road on south side of Sheedy Road.
• drainage improvements.

These works cost about $2.4 million, including close to $2.2 million provided through Phase 3 of the Australian Government’s Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program.
