Gisborne, Howey Street - Footpath Renewal Works

These works will include upgrades to a 1.5 metre wide concrete footpath along north side of Howey Street, Gisborne, between Aitken street and Brantome Street, Gisborne. 

The works will improve access for school students from nearby schools, and pram crossings will improve pedestrian safety between the footpath and the road. As part of the works, a spoon drain is going to be constructed along the footpath, and the kerb and channel are being reconstructed at crossovers to improve drainage of this section of Howey Street.

These works are funded by the 2023/24 Capital Footpath Renewal Works Program.

The works have now commenced and are expected to be completed by early June 2024, weather permitting. 

Minor delays to vehicle access and movement are expected during the works.
