Toilets to open for public at Kyneton Museum this weekend

Last updated on 07 October 2025

This Friday 10 October through to Sunday 12 October, the toilets at the Kyneton Museum will be open from 10am to 4pm, to provide an additional public facility on Piper Street.

Council’s Director Assets and Operations, Dom Testoni, said the decision to open the museum toilets would help meet community needs during busy periods.

“We know weekends are when Piper Street is particularly bustling with activity - with the farmers market this weekend, and people exploring nearby shops and enjoying the township. Opening the museum toilets this weekend will provide extra facilities during these busy times and make it easier for everyone to access public amenities while visiting Kyneton.”

The museum toilets can be accessed via the side entrance on Powlett Street. Ongoing access to these public toilets beyond this weekend will be in line with Kyneton Museum opening hours (11am-4pm Friday to Sunday), and we will continue to monitor these arrangements. Clear signage will be installed in prominent locations to inform the community.

This decision follows the recent closure of the public toilets previously located at the former Duck Duck Goose and Larder site on the corner of Piper and Ebden streets.

Other nearby public toilets are located at:

  • Hutton Street (behind Council’s Kyneton Administration Centre)

  • Mollison Street (Kyneton Showgrounds)
