Kettlewells Gravel Pit

Kettlewells Gravel Pit is open for loading of gravel to private contractors by appointment only.

Uncrushed gravel

Comes directly out of the ground and ranges in size with rocks (up to a football size) mostly used for filling in holes / backfilling land etc.

Cost: $17.90 per tonne.

Crushed gravel

Used as a road base. It is uncrushed gravel going through a machine and shifted through a grate that has approximately 65 mm holes, so that means there are no particles of gravel bigger then 65mm in length/height.

Cost: $28.10 per tonne.

It has a high clay content. The material is not classified, but is similar to class 4 crushed rock.

Buy gravel

To buy gravel from Kettlewells Gravel Pit, you must:

1. Attend a customer service centre to pay for your order. You will be provided with a receipt that you will need to present when picking up your order.
2. Visit the gravel pit (access via Joyces Road) on a Wednesday between 7.30am and 3pm (or by appointment).

Customers are to provide their own truck (with tarps/covers). No household trailers.
