Can we save our stories when robots arrive?

WHALEBONE speaks about the importance and future of our stories in a new era where Artificial Intelligence starts to substitute human decisions.

It is a visual family show that inquires our dealing with memories in a world where we are flooded by digital data.

With the magical premise of a space where all human stories are safe guarded, the audiences are taken on a journey full of surprises and magical stage wonders, where stories fly through the air (for real!) and old telephones transform into desert- shower appliances (also for real!). A place full of spectacular and interactive video animations, tinkered machines, digital gadgets and holograms.

Show duration 60 minutes no interval. Recommended age 6 to 14 years, families.

About the artist

Jens Altheimer is the producer, writer and director of Whalebone. Jens has been working for the last 30 years as an independent artist in Europe and Australia.

His body of work includes family theatre, multidisciplinary community art projects, playful kinetic installations and circus productions. He is a deviser, director, performer, producer, teacher, thinker and tinkerer with a strong interest in creating participatory, unusual and empowering arts experiences.

He recently started to play with audio-visual technology and robotics. He had his first exhibition in a gallery, showcasing eccentric stage machines, mentored other artists and opened his new solo show...WHALEBONE.
