What's it all about?

Children in Prep to Grade 6 are invited to join Penelope and dive into a world of colour, pattern, and geometric fun these school holidays!

In this focused and creative workshop, participants will learn how to build striking, large-scale graphic mandalas using vibrant dot stickers. We will explore layering with larger coloured dots, introducing 3D elements with dimensional stickers, and adding fine, intricate details with Posca pens.

It’s a wonderfully meditative process that is both satisfying to make and beautiful to look at. Every child will take home a unique, multi-layered masterpiece ready to display.

Who will be leading the session?

Local artist/educator Penelope Cato is eager to share her experience and knowledge with budding young artists. Penelope has an abiding interest in nature, particularly plant life and a love for patterning and Japanese design.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Penelope has a background in design across disciplines and creates imaginative works with aesthetic appeal and subtle layers of meaning.

Her experience directing, inspiring and engaging primary students together with her passion for art make her an asset to our junior artistic community.
