Drama Workshop (morning) - School Holidays Fun at WNH
Next date: Wednesday, 16 July 2025 | 09:30 AM
to 12:30 PM
School-aged children in prep to grade 6 are invited to a Drama Workshop with Storyboard Drama Studios.
What's it all about?
Storyboard Drama Studios is dedicated to building confidence and resilience in children and young adults through drama and performance. Participants engage in a wide range of activities including performance technique, stage craft, improvisation, script writing, scene analysis, body awareness, and voice/vocal control.
As part of the workshop, students are also introduced to screen acting, with the opportunity to perform in front of the camera—simulating the experience of working on a film or television set. This helps develop on-camera confidence, awareness of filmed scene work, and an understanding of the differences between stage and screen performance.
The program is designed to teach and support children in developing vital life skills through the joy of performance, creativity, and imaginative play.

What will we cover?
The School Holiday Program serves as an introduction to the core elements of the studio’s approach. Participants will engage in a variety of fun drama games and exercises, and will use imaginative play to create scenes. The program concludes with a small in-class performance, allowing students to showcase what they’ve learned in a supportive and creative environment. Parents are invited to return 10-15 minutes prior to the end of the workshop to view the final performance.
Filming Component
Some of the work created during the session will be filmed, providing children with the opportunity to experience performing on camera. These filmed scenes will be shown to participants and parents during the session, and then deleted by Storyboard Drama Studios at the conclusion of the workshop.
Who will be teaching?
Paul Canlan from Storyboard Drama Studios will be running the show.
