Discover hidden artworks by local artists Elizabeth Darling and Kathryn Portelli along the Mystery Art trail between The Auction House gallery on Mollison Street, and Art On Piper gallery in Piper Street, Kyneton.

Whether you’re a local art enthusiast looking for a new experience, or a visitor looking for a unique way too see Kyneton, pick up a map from either galleries and start out on your fun town walk.

Explorers use a printed map to guide them to 14 obvious and hidden locations, searching for the handcrafted tiles.

The hidden art trail takes roughly 25 minutes and is an experience all the family can enjoy. This easy walk is suitable for all ages. The routes are pram and wheelchair accessible, with toilets and seats marked on the maps. 

Elizabeth Darling’s very recognisable style of ink sketch and watercolour wash, appeals to young and old alike and will make easy to understand, engaging graphic statements, in designs customised to each site.

How to get involved

  • Pick up a map from The Old Auction House Gallery 52-56 Mollison Street, or Art On Piper 44 Piper Street.
  • Start out on your fun town walk (takes approximately 25 minutes each way).
  • Discover artworks along the way—also some beautiful gardens and buildings.
  • Check out galleries upon arrival.
