Sack of Flour wins Battle of the Bands 2023!

Battle of the Bands 2023 attracted a crowd of about 170 people to the Kyneton Town Hall on 28 July to see five local young acts perform live on stage and compete to win some great prizes.

A total of 15 acts, spanning genres from acoustic to heavy metal, applied to take part in the competition this year.

Battling it out in the final were:

  • The Tangents
  • Sack of Flour
  • Live Wire
  • Elysium
  • August

Sack of Flour, who describe their genre of music as hard rock/pop punk, took out the grand prize of a $500 recording studio voucher, as decided by a panel of judges which included two young people.

The People’s Choice award, as voted on by the audience, was awarded to Elysium, who took home a $500 merchandise pack.

The event was organised by Council’s Youth Services team and supported by Council’s Arts and Culture team.
