Knotting rope bridges for canopy habitat

Join us as we create 100m of rope bridge for the forest canopies of Hanging Rock Reserve.

Forest canopies were undoubtable damaged by the June 2021 storm. This impacts the safe movement of native fauna between habitats. To help wildlife recover, Council is running a series of workshops where residents can help create rope bridges that will be secured at Hanging Rock Reserve.

Experienced fauna ecologists, Dr Joanne Isaac and Alana Begg from Ecology and Restoration Australia lead the workshops and share knowledge about the importance of rope bridges for arboreal fauna. This is a wonderful opportunity to help environmental recovery from the June 2021 storm, develop a new skill in habitat conservation and connect to your local community and Landcare groups.

Sponsored by DELWP and Macedon Ranges Shire Council.

New dates for 2023 workshops to be announced soon.
