The Fire Danger Period for Macedon Ranges Shire started at 1am on Monday 17 November until further notice. During this time, no fire may be lit in the open air without a permit.

The proposed new footpath on Rochford Road has been identified as a priority link in Council's Shire wide footpath plan. The works involve constructing approximately 145 metres of 1.5 m wide concrete path, along the western side of Rochford Road, extending from Robertson Drive to the existing school crossing in front of Newham CFA. The new footpath will provide improved pedestrian access for local residents and school children.
This project is fully funded by Council as part of the 2025–26 Capital Works Program.
The works have been awarded and are expected to commence in January 2026.
Minor delays are expected during the works. Please allow extra time if travelling in the area.
