Gisborne, Hamilton Street - Footpath works

The brick footpath along Hamilton Street has been replaced with exposed aggregate concrete surface.

The 2-metre wide footpath along north side of Hamilton Street, Gisborne, between the Aitken Street roundabout and Melbourne-Kilmore Road roundabout, has been replaced with exposed aggregate concrete surface, matching with existing nearby historical buildings to maintain the same neighbourhood character.

The works will improve access for community to facilities and historical buildings in the central business district of Gisborne township. As part of the works, the kerb and channel have also been upgraded to improve drainage of this section of Hamilton Street.

These works were funded by the 2023/24 Capital Footpath Renewal Program.

The works commenced on 5 February 2024 and were completed on 23 February 2024 - a week ahead of schedule!

We would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience as works were being completed.
