To recognise International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) 2023, Council will be holding a “Showcasing Inclusion” photo competition and is inviting the community to submit photos that show inclusivity in daily life.

The competition is open to everyone. You don’t need to be an expert photographer to enter and casual shots from your phone are very welcome.

Competition categories will focus on different aspects of life such as education and employment, the arts, sport and recreation. There will also be a category for photographers who identify as a person with disability and for photographers under 16 years old.

Prizes will be awarded for each category and for the photo selected by judges as the most outstanding illustration of ‘This is what inclusion means to me’.

The competition closes on 29 October, with a presentation event on 29 November, leading into IDPwD, celebrated on 3 December. A travelling exhibition will follow for the community to view entries, which will also be displayed online.

Submit your photos at International Day of People with Disability or call 5422 0333.
