April school holiday activities in the shire

Council is hosting a range of activities and events for children and young people in the shire throughout the April school holidays.

• Kids Creative Building Jam – Kyneton Town Hall, 8-10 April. A hands-on, super fun creative school holiday collaboration for children aged 6-13 years. Someone is in trouble and 100 creative-minded kids are needed to help design and build a safe place for them. Using a huge range of reclaimed materials, we will collaboratively dream up and build a never-before-seen structure in the town hall.
  The program will run over five separate two-hour workshops, culminating with a public grand opening to celebrate the build. Register via the Council website or call the box office on 1300 888 802.

• Dance holiday program – 8-10 April, 9am-12pm, Buffalo Sports Stadium in Woodend. For children aged 6-12 years. Over three sessions, children will learn hip hop, acrobatic and acting skills in a fun and engaging environment with a qualified professional. • Intensive Learn to Swim Program– Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre (KTSAC) will run intensive swimming programs during the holidays. To enrol call 5421 1477.

• The pool inflatable – featuring obstacles, climbing hills and slides – will also run on various days at KTSAC throughout the holidays. Use of the inflatable is included in pool entry fees. Follow the KTSAC Facebook page for updates.
  
  *A reminder that Gisborne Aquatic Centre is closed for maintenance during the school holidays (2-14 April).

• Youth AMCI Exhibition Excursion – 8 April. Fully supervised event for ages 12-17 years. Join the Youth Services team on a trip to ACMI at Federation Square in Melbourne to see the ‘Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature Exhibition’, an immersive exhibition featuring large-scale digital works and interactive experiences. • Hanging Rock exhibition and art competition – View the ‘Impacts of single-use plastics’ exhibition at the Hanging Rock Discovery Centre and see the winning entries from the Hanging Rock Single-use Plastics Art Competition.
