Kyneton Mechanics Institute

All venue hire includes use of the following equipment, when available:

• 120 x banquet chairs
• 12 x round trestle tables
• 8 x rectangular trestle tables
• Portable 75" TV screen (with HDMI cable)
• Whiteboard
• Lectern

• Auditorium/main hall, daily rate: $383
• Large studio/meeting room, daily rate: $218
• Large studio/meeting room, hourly rate: $41
• Small studio/meeting room, daily rate: $190
• Small studio/meeting room, hourly rate: $27
• Event bond (where applicable): $1,000
• Projector and screen: $80*
• Microphone and speaker: $60*

*Additional staffing charges may apply for setup and installation of technical equipment.

All fees include 10% GST. Fees and charges are updated 1st July each year, in line with Council's budget.

Venue Subsidy Scheme

A venue subsidy scheme is available for community or NFP groups, and local artists or arts organisations. To enquire about eligibility, or to request an application form, email creativevenues@mrsc.vic.gov.au

Council's public liability

All hirers are required to hold their own public liability insurance. NFP groups and individuals without cover are eligible to be covered under Council's public liability for an additional fee of $20.

Please note that bookings cannot be made less than 10 days in advance. 

Mobility access

Entry to the front of the venue is accessible for wheelchair users, and patrons with prams or mobility aids. Wheelchair accessible seating is available for all Council-managed events in this venue.

There are two accessible parking spots in nearby Baynton Street. The distance between these parking spots and the front entrance of the Kyneton Mechanics Institute is approximately 60 metres using paved footpaths. 

An additional two accessible parking spots are in the public carpark just off Simpson Street, opposite the Kyneton Bowling Club. The distance between these parking spots and the front entrance of the Kyneton Mechanics Institute is approximately 80 metres using paved footpaths and one road crossing. 

Please note that access to the Kyneton Mechanics Institute stage is via stairs only. 

Deaf or hard of hearing access

Kyneton Mechanics Institute is not currently fitted with a hearing loop or hearing assistance system and is not able to support closed caption displays for live performance.

Blind or vision impaired access

There are no specific access supports at this venue for patrons who are blind or have low vision.

Bathroom access

There are two accessible bathrooms within this venue, including one that is equipped with a roll-in shower. 

Parking 

There is no onsite parking available at this venue, however on-street parking is available in Baynton Street and other nearby streets, as sign posted. There are two accessible parking spots located in Baynton Street, and two electric vehicle charging stations.

There is also a public carpark just off Simpson Street, opposite the Kyneton Bowling Club. The Simpson Street carpark has approximately 30 parking spaces, including two accessible parking spots.   

Drop off / pick up points

There is no designated drop off or pick up point for this venue.
