Nature Makers - School Holidays Fun at WNH (Sept - Oct 2026)

What's it all about?

Young people aged 12 - 17 are invited to join the team from Creative Me for a hands-on workshop exploring creativity, nature, wellbeing and community.

Participants will get creative, learn new skills and make something that supports our feathered friends and pollinators. Together, we’ll create beautiful pieces that will become part of the Woodend Neighbourhood House garden - helping nature and our community thrive.

In this fun, hands-on session, participants will:

• Design a mosaic bird bath
• Create a hanging log feeder using natural twine and birdseed
• Build a bee habitat using recycled tins and straw

Please note that all creative works will be proudly installed in the Woodend Neighbourhood House garden, creating a lasting contribution for the community to enjoy.

All materials are provided, and no prior creative experience is necessary.

This activity is proudly supported by the Victorian State Government as part of Victorian Youth Fest 2026.

Who will be leading the session?

Creative Me is a mobile art “un-school” working in the Macedon Ranges and beyond, our clients ranging from preschoolers to seniors. We run joyful creative workshops focused on process and the pleasure of making. We aim to inspire everyone to embrace their inner artist and grow in creative confidence.

Additional Information

The Nature Makers will run between 1pm - 3pm on Tuesday 29th September. There is no cost to attend this workshop, however bookings are required.

Please note the workshop will have a maximum of 20 participants.

The workshop will take place in the Rodney Snell Function Room at the Woodend Neighbourhood House. Entry is via the red door at 47 Forest Street, Woodend.

Participants are advised to wear old clothes that can get messy, or bring along an art smock or old shirt.
