Join Dr Kirsten Parris from the University of Melbourne during FrogID Week, to learn about the fascinating frogs that live in the Macedon Ranges and how you can help monitor and protect them.

Frogs are important indicators of environmental health, but many species are facing increasing threats from habitat loss, disease and climate change. By learning where frogs occur and tracking changes in their populations, we can better understand them.

During this walk and talk, you will:

  • learn how to identify and record frog calls using the FrogID app
  • discover some of the frog species that call the Macedon Ranges home
  • learn why frogs are important indicators of a healthy environment
  • discover how local frog records help scientists help frogs
  • hear how you can contribute valuable local data by joining the Macedon Ranges FrogID group on the FrogID app.
